The Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) is Nepal’s premier government-backed institution for hospitality and tourism education. Established in 1972 and located in Rabi Bhawan, Kathmandu, it operates under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA).
Known for its affordability and high placement rates, NATHM has produced over 26,000 graduates, with an estimated 90% employment rate in domestic and international hospitality sectors. Recently, the academy merged with the Nepal Mountain Academy to become the Nepal Academy of Tourism, Hotel and Mountaineering.
Academic Programs
All degree programs are affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU) and require passing the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) for entry.
  • Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM): A flagship 4-year (8-semester) program covering food production, front office, and strategic management.
  • Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM): A 4-year program focused on travel operations, tour planning, and air ticketing.
  • Master of Hospitality Management (MHM): A 2-year (4-semester) graduate course involving policy analysis and a thesis.
